But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

1 Thessalonians 1:3

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

In order to really make faith work, you must have hope. Faith and hope go together. Can you ever have faith if you do not have hope? Faith leads to hope.

Hebrews 6:19-20

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hope makes us firm, strong, rooted, and grounded Christians. We can have hope because one of the most powerful places in the spiritual world is the presence of God, and Jesus is standing right at that throne where he interceded on our behalf. Our names are being mentioned in the most powerful place in existence.

Romans 5:5

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

We will never be disappointed when we hope in God. We can hope in God because he loves us. Another aspect of how hope connects to love is that those who love God put their hope in Him.
