Suspense is created in a story that has a lot of repetition and various instances of dramatic irony.

In "The Tell-Tale Heart", the audience knows the old man's body is underneath the floor boards but the police don't know.
What is dramatic irony?
In "The Tell-Tale Heart", the narrator murders the old man by suffocating him with his mattress.
