Whisper to each other, trade information, tell them what they are missing so that question taker comes up with more questions.

What if you're unable to trade a hostage for the taker's demands? (food, water, etc.)

Try to trade their demands for their weapons or a trade of hostage safety like speaking to them on the phone.

What do you do when the hostage taker starts getting aggravated while speaking?

Try to show empathy towards them and listen to them vent.

What does the on-scene commander do during the call break with other teammates?

Report information they have so far to judge and other commander. Discuss and what the next steps will be to diffuse the situation.

What if you have a location of the hostage taker, what are the next steps?

You will request additional officers, SWAT team, ambulance on standby, etc.

Communicate with those threatening violence, find out where and who.

If FBI runs it, you may call back. If DEA runs it, taker calls back.

Board person cannot be too vague and messy

Team leader cannot interfere with the communication because negotiator and taker.

What if the taker says, "If you don't meet my requests, I will blow up this [location] and people in 10 minutes"?

Try to tell them that things take extra time, "We don't want your order to be incorrect, certain things take time"
