Follow up with residents, remind them of occupancy, guest limits, document, and report concern as necessarily.

Why are unofficial room swaps between students prohibited, and what is the proper way for a student to request a room change?

Because unauthorized room changes can create safety issues and disrupt housing capacity limits, students must go through the official room change process by submitting a request to their RD and waiting for approval before moving.

Yes, occupancy policy is being violated. Residents are allowed one guest. RA's should educate the residents, document accordingly, and inform supervising RD during business hours.

It is around 11AM on a Saturday and your resident knocks on your door complaining about their neighbors that are allegedly very loud and disrupting their rest. What do you do? 

Ask resident if they asked neighbors to quiet down? Encourage them to do so. Inform them of courtesy hours and talk through different perceptions of volume. Check on the alleged room, knock on their down, casual conversation, and just remind of courtesy hours.
