What is the definition of the Quran?

It is the miraculous Word of Allah ﷻ, revealed to Prophet Mohammad ﷺ by Jibril عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ. Reciting it is worship and it has reached us through successive narration as it is written in the mus’haf (Quranic book) from the beginning of Suratul Fatiha to the end of Suratul Nass.

List two manners of reciting the Quran.

  • To face the qiblah if we are able.
  • We need to start our recitation with أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم and ﷽
  • To read with Khushoo, which means we think about the ayahs we are reading and feel humble to Allah ﷻ. 
  • To try to beautify our voices, and read with Tajweed. 
  • To have general manners when reading, such as not laughing during recitation, not looking elsewhere, and not cutting off recitation.

  • Intentional thoughts:  These are evil thoughts that we dwell upon and intentionally think about.  We even make an action plan (intention) to do something because of these thoughts.  This type of thoughts will get us bad deeds.
