Yes, if you are proctoring please make sure the students have the reference sheets to use prior to testing.

Can all students use a dictionary during testing?

Only ESL students can use a hard copy word to word translation dictionary, and it should be in their accommodation and have been used throughout the year.

Allowed: The use of a hard copy bilingual dictionary is allowed for Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies assessments. Bilingual dictionaries used in these cases should include ONLY word-to-word translations. 

Not Allowed: A student is not allowed to use a bilingual dictionary that contains pictures, definitions, examples, or a tablet or app during a Math, Science, or Social Studies assessments.

Can students or their parents check STAAR scores after the test?

Yes! Students, arents and guardians can access their students’ individual STAAR results at texasassessment.gov. 

To access STAAR results:

• Visit https://texasassessment.gov. 
• Click “Lookup unique access code” 
• Enter the following 3 pieces of information
  • Student’s First Name
  • Student’s Social Security Number
  • Student’s Date of Birth
• Click “Go” to Login
