What does it mean?

The Family and Medical Leave Act.

Is a Federal law that allows eligible employees to take unpaid, job protected leave for certain family and medical reasons. You can require a staff member to use and or exhaust their PTO/EIB if on FMLA.

NO you can't ask this question. If you move forward with a candidate and we do the conditional job offer, at that point we would let them know we're going to run a WSP and National background check.  This is usually when they let us know if they have been arrested.

No -you can't, these are protected leaves of absences.

Yes, you can ask this question, as long as you ask all candidates the same questions on this subject.

True or False- You have to document your coaching meetings with staff?  

True-you have to document it, in case you have to move to the next step in the progressive disciplinary steps.  If it isn't documented it didn't happen.  You need to be able to provide details of your coaching, date, time, what was discussed, witnesses, etc. 

You don't have to complete a process improvement form, just document for your information.

Yes, you should do a detail investigation and document your findings on your supervisors report.

Yes- When scheduling the meeting, let the employee know this meeting may lead to progressive discipline and they can have a union rep. with them.  Document on the form if union representation was declined.

An employee is injured by a patient, what do they do?

First report it immediately to their supervisor. Then they need to complete the employee incident report, even if it is a near miss. Report the incident in ActionCue to start the documentation process.
