What is the points system?
It is ACE's disciplinary infraction system. This system aims to promote accountability and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to improve and succeed. We believe that clear guidelines will help us maintain the high standards we set as a team.
Is it appropriate to discuss client care information in common areas with fellow staff members?
No. Communications, detailing client care or PI information should only be conducted in private settings; where conversations cannot be overheard.

No. Spandex wear is not allowed which includes yoga pants or leggings.

False: Reoccurring absences or tardies can result in infraction points. We appreciate you following the proper procedure, but attendance is very important. It is the expectation of all employees to start and stop their sessions at their scheduled times.

"I left my iPad at home so I will just record paper data and take it home to finish my session note"
Paper data can contain client information and treatment plan details. Things like this should NEVER leave the clinic and when paper data is collected, it should be disposed of properly in the designated shred area.

False. You are always encouraged to express yourself, but time and place is KEY. If you disagree with someone it is best to step away from the clinical floor to discuss any differences.

False: If you receive any points but do not get any additional points in the following quarter then the original points accumulated will fall off. "All disciplinary actions will be reviewed and reset quarterly, meaning that every three months, verbal and written warnings will be evaluated and potentially eliminated."
Is it okay to take a photo of your client, as long as it is on a company issued device?
No, technicians should NOT take any photos of clients, regardless of the device used. If we are having an event or spirit week, members of management will be responsible for photo taking.
What is the best way to request additional support?
Always reach out to your clinical site director for on-site support and lean on the case supervisor (BCBA) for clinical support.
Can you request more than 5 days of time off, at any time?
Yes, but these requests should always be directed to HR. Any time off that will exceed 5 days will need special approval. All time off requests need to be submitted at least 2-weeks in advance for review.
Can you share personal opinions with parents regarding their behavior?
No, any and all parental communications will come from the clinical site director, supervisor or program manager. Staff members should express any concerns to them, and they will follow up.

False: The Autism Center for Enrichment reserves the right to discipline an employee at any time for inappropriate conduct or behavior, whether such conduct is referenced or mentioned in this infractions policy.

It is nice the employee recognized the client but remember this is a violation of HIPAA. The employee is openly disclosing she knows the client from an ABA company by speaking.

This is an example of insubordination and can result in infractions points. Regardless if they are on the case or not, all employees are expected to follow any instruction given from any member of management.

24 hours in advance is ideal but if it is for a same day cancellation, then please make sure you text the main line by 7 am.

Exclusion. This is the perfect example of exclusion which sometimes leads to bullying.
What is the range of points for termination?
24+ points will put the employee at risk of termination. Serious instances of rule violations, improper conduct or unsatisfactory job performance will be grounds for immediate termination.
True or False: It is perfectly fine for a former technician and current technician to discuss a client's care, outside of work.
False. It does not matter whether it is in work or outside or work, no client care details should be discussed with any technician that is not ACTIVELY on the case.
