  • There is immense diversity among people belonging to this group in society.

  • It is not uncommon for people living in rural or remote areas to live off the land and thus certain climates will be more appropriate for growing certain resources.

  • With this in mind, each rural or remote area may be common for a specific style of farming eg towards the border between NSW and Qld, there are large sugar cane farms. This crop would not grow in Tasmania, highlighting one aspect of diversity among this group.

By developing programs and various activities for the homeless people to participate in and educate the wider community.

Homelessness Australia raises awareness through National homelessness Awareness Week and Homelessness Prevention Week.


The main idea of these weeks is to engage the media and create community awareness to broaden their understanding of homelessness and to develop enough empathy to create conversations about forcing change to public policy and to  make homelessness a voting issue.
