What is Gestational Hypertension?
Gestational HTN + new onset of one or more of the following. Proteinuria, Cr >1.1mg/dL, Thrombocytopenia, Elevated AST/ALT, Pulmonary edema, Vision Changes, and patient often complains of epigastric pain.
What is Preeclampsia?
Used to prevent seizures in patients with preeclampsia and slows contractions in premature labor.
What is Magnesium Sulfate?
Reversal agent for Magnesium Sulfate
What is Calcium gluconate?
Hypertension that appears prior to pregnancy or before 20 weeks gestation
What is Chronic Hypertension?
Preeclampsia + Grand mal Seizure
What is Eclampsia?
Patient presents with absent DTR, Decreased respiratory rate, urine output <30ml/hr.
What is Mag Toxicity?
Protects the patient from physical injury and would be indicated if patient is confirmed or suspected to have preeclampsia

Percentage of Gestational hypertensives patients that become preeclamptic

Most severe complication of Eclampsia as a result of a seizure (HINT: We can determine this by using the FAST/BEFAST screening assessment)
What is a Stroke?
Non-selective Beta-Blocker often given with magnesium to lower patients blood pressure
