The Israelites are walking through the desert after fleeing from Pharaoh and they were complaining about food. God provided for the bread and meat from the sky. The manna shows that God provided for them when they didn't have food.

A shepherd is someone who's job was to look after other people's sheep. Many times the shepherd didn't own the sheep, but just looked after them.

Jesus is saying that He is going to raise Lazarus up, and we can read on and know that He is implying today. However, Martha things that her brother will "rise" at the end of the world. That He would be alive in the afterlife.

Jesus was a teacher, he was supposed to be different than other people and had to remain ceremonially clean. Teachers also wouldn't be friends with people like tax collectors.

In Exodus, it says that the Israelites weren't able to save their manna for the next day. Why weren't they able to save it and when they did it got maggots?

They had to rely on God for their next meal. If they were able to save it then they wouldn't have relied on God.

What is the difference between the fired hand and the Good Shepherd (John 10:11-14)

The hired hand would have been shepherds at the time. Yje shepherds didn't own the sheep but looked after the sheep for the owners. They were strictly just working to get paid. Jesus is saying He is more than just a hired hand, but HE cares for the sheep.

(John 11:25-26) What does Jesus mean when He calls Himself the resurrection and the life?

Jesus is saying that through a relationship with Him death is not the end. Lazarus had a relationship with Jesus. He knew Jesus and loved him. Jesus did not prevent Lazarus' death (even though he could have), but instead He resurrected Lazarus. As followers of Jesus death is not the end for us either.

(John 15:1-2) What is the difference between cutting off and pruning?

In this passage cutting off and pruning carry different meanings. The branches being cut look dead and are bearing no fruit. While the ones that are being pruned look like they are still alive and bearing fruit. Pruning is like trimming them so they can continue to be fruitful, while cutting off looks more like completely removing from the plant/vine.

Jesus saw Zaccaeus even though he was small and people didn't like him. Jesus noticed that Zaccaeus wanted to change his life and his ways. Jesus wanted to have a relationship with Zaccaeus.
