Recite the Mantra of Literary Analysis
A novel is a work of fiction crafted by an author who employs various literary devices, literary techniques, and other stylistic elements. As a student of literature, my job is to detect and observe these devices and techniques, explore how the author uses them, and explain the meaning of the story in light of them.
Keeping in mind the four guiding questions:
What is the author doing?
How is s/he doing it?
How do I know?
What does it mean?
