This is the operational definition of my Self-injurious behavior & show us an example.
Any instance of Willi using any part of her hand to make forceful contact with objects (i.e. a table) producing an audible sounds. And or using her hand to make contact with any part of her body while making eye contact with another person in a non-functional or social manner.
Can you tell me what forceful means ?
Patient EN:
While engaging in play with a preferred tangible the patient engages in a short vocalization "ahhh vhavhaihfe" without negative affect in a high pitch voice.
Can you count that?
No,
Any instance of Ellie engaging in vocalizations at or above normal speaking volume accompanied by either negative facial affects or negative tone of voice lasting 3 seconds or less

Give us a NONSENSICAL example of VOCAL DISRUPTION?

This is what ONSET means.
Onset is the moment that something begins.
The start, think of it as GO, if the onset is 5 seconds then you can use the seconds leading up to that to get ready to start collecting data.

Patient MM: NAME THE BX
Any actual or attempted swiping, throwing, ripping, stepping on, kicking, or drawing on of objects in the environment. Onset of the behavior is Michael throwing, swiping items in his environment. Offset is the cessation of the behavior for at least 3 seconds.
Disruptive Behavior (previously property destruction)
Patient WR:
The patient engages in vocal disruptions at the removal of a preferred tangible that last for 2 seconds.
Can you count that?

Vocal Disruption (Screaming): Any instance of MM engaging in high pitched vocalizations that are above conversational level for any period of time with or without tears/crying. Each instance is separated into a new instance once behaviors have ceased for 3 seconds.

Yes, sometimes it is important to count attempts just as successes. (Rachel typically does choose to count attempts in her interventions)
Any instance of Ellie attempting to or successfully leaving an adult's side without adult knowledge or permission from 3 feet or greater
Patient EN:
After preferred tangible is removed after use of a timer, the patients body moves from the chair to the floor. The patient takes off their shoe and throws its 2 feet from their location. The patient then stands up to retrieve the shoe, after putting the shoe on the patient hits their head on the wall (forehead to wall contact). Can you count her hitting the wall with her head as SIB?

Moving away from caregivers or providers for three feet or more WITHOUT following instructions to stop. A response cycle ends when Michael remains within three feet of parents or providers and stay within arms reach for 5 seconds.

Any instance of Willi engaging in negative vocalization at or above conversational volume accompanied with a negative facial (i.e. crying, pouting lips) affect or tone lasting 3 or more seconds
Patient WR:
The patient is looking at a Frozen book, when the RBT prompts the patient that she has 1 more minute before transitions. The patient then rips a page of the book. Can you count that? and What behavior is it?
YES OF COURSE!
Any instance of Willi using any part of her body to displace an otherwise stable object in a manner other than it's intended function, using her foot to kick items not intended for kicking, and or using her hands to rip objects containing paper that are not intended for ripping

Is this an example of my operational definition of flopping?
No, my bottom/body did not hit the floor.
Any instance in which Michael drops his body to the floor from a sitting or standing position resulting in any part of Michael's body from the waste down (other than his feet) making direct contact with the ground for a minimum of 3 seconds.

Patient MM:
After a SD is presented to approach the DTT table, M.M. engages in vocal disruptions and his hand makes contact with his leg 6x in a forceful manner. As the RBT approaches to remove the reinforcer M.M.'s hand makes contact with the RBT 4x in a forceful manner. How many times did the patient engage in physical aggression? Did the patient engage in a novel bx?
10X, No novel bx
Any actual or attempted hitting self or others with an open or closed fist with enough force to cause harm. Onset of the behavior is initial contact with person or self skin, clothing or hair. Offset is the removal of contact with persons skin, clothing or hair.
This is what SENSICAL and NONSENSICAL means.
The patient can be engaging in this behavior rather she is using actual words that can be clearly understood as well as random babbles that do not make sense.
