This category refers to a disability in which a person's hearing is severely affected or absent in that the child is impaired in processing linguistic information through auditory access, with or without amplification.

What is a Free and Appropriate Public Education?
This category refers to a delay in one or more areas of a student's development. i.e.: cognitive, physical or emotional.
What is Developmental Delay (DD)?
Helps a student prepare for life after high school. Planning must start by the time a student turns 14 years old.
What is Transition Planning?
The federal law that ensures eligible students with disabilities receive FAPE, special education and related services, EI for 3 years old and younger. Controls the procedural requirements of an IEP
What is IDEA?
The document required to be given to parents to explain a proposed change or refusal by the district to the IEP. Results of a team meeting but not yet implemented.
