  1. Find a safe space to discuss the issue (calmly!)

  2. Clarify the problem and agree to find a solution that works for both

  3. Listen to the other person without interrupting

  4. Rephrase their statements to make sure you understand

  5. Clearly state your own concerns/needs

  6. Brainstorm potential solutions that address BOTH of your concerns
  7. Agree on a solution and determine who will do what

  8. Implement the solution

  9. Check in to determine if the solution is meeting both of your needs

  10. Make changes as necessary
