Albuquerque is this type of community because it has many people, businesses, busy streets, museums, and shopping malls.
What is an urban community?
The number of people who live in one place.
What is population?
This type of map is similar to a political map, but it gives more details about what an area is like. It may show water, mountain ranges, and elevation.
What is a physical map?
This community has a small population and tends to have more farm land and fields. It usually has fewer businesses than the other two communities.
What is a rural community?
This is the imaginary line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole. It divides the earth into the eastern and western hemispheres.
What is the Prime Meridian?
You would use this type of map to find the elevation of where you live.
What is a physical map?
This community has very large populations, busy streets, and buildings that are close together. An example is Denver, Colorado.

People from rural communities might work in or travel to suburban or urban communities. People from cities may travel to rural communities for work or play. Farmers in rural communities grow food for people in all three types.
