INAPPROPRIATE

WHY=Historical context

Early Use: "Ghetto" was originally used in 16th-century Venice to describe the section of the city where Jewish people were forced to live.

Nazi Era: The term gained a darker significance during World War II when the Nazis used it to describe overcrowded holding places for Jews.

Post-WWII: particularly in the United States, it became associated with impoverished inner-city neighborhoods, primarily inhabited by racial and ethnic minorities, according to EBSCO. This usage reflects the realities of segregation and systemic racism that concentrated minority populations in disadvantaged areas, according to The Michigan Daily.
