Can an agent be appointed in a state without requesting the appointment?
The only states that do not require the agent to request an appointment are the Just In Time states. Every other state requires the agent to request the appointment.
If a producer sells a policy in a non-JIT State that they did not request to be appointed in prior to selling as required; they will be systematically appointed with the entity tied to that policy but they will still be required to submit a request to be fully appointed in that non-JIT State.
ALM is stating that NIPR is showing a producer’s license is inactive. How can this be corrected?
In order to update NIPR, the producer will need to contact that specific state DOI (Department of Insurance). The state DOI feeds the license status to NIPR and UHC obtains electronic updates from NIPR.

How long does an agent have to wait to re-contract if they are termed due to lack of certification?
If an agent is termed due to lack of certification because the annual certifications were not completed the agent can recontract immediately with the current NMA. New contracting paperwork and completion of certifications will be required to receive a new writing ID.
If an agent wants to change NMAs after being termed for lack of certification current release rules need to be followed. Immediate recontracting would require an NMA release. Otherwise, there is a 6-month period that needs to pass to change NMAs after termination due to lack of certification.

No, the producer would need to submit new contracting paperwork for review. The producer should contact their upline/MGM for assistance with contracting paperwork.

License and appointment status can be verified in Jarvis under the agent’s profile. Jarvis should be utilized to confirm appointment status. If the agent appears as licensed and appointed in Jarvis they are ready to sell in that state (even if it is a JIT state).
