What is a First Aider?

What are AEDs?
An unplanned occurrence that results in, or has the potential to result in, loss or harm to people, environment, property and/or process.
What is an Incident?
They have a responsibility to report all injuries, regardless of severity, to their supervisor, and to do so in a timely manner.
Who are Employees?
An injury of a serious nature that places life in jeopardy; produces unconsciousness; results in substantial loss of blood; involves the fracture of a leg or arm but not a finger or toe; involves the amputation of a leg, arm, hand or foot but not a finger or toe; consists of burns to major portion of the body; or causes the loss of sight in an eye.
What is a Critical Injury?
A volunteer who leads their colleagues in daily exercises designed to increase mobility and prevent injury.
What is a Stretch Captain?
The person with whom you should speak if you find the First Aid Room door has been locked.
Who is Security?
An employee's physical limitations and/or capabilities which dictate the work they can or cannot do.
What are functional abilities?
The location where you will find amended hours for all EHS staff.
What is the Health Services door?
Baxter is responsible for notifying this Government Agency of all critical injuries.
What is the Ministry of Labour (MoL)?
Their role is to pro-actively treat musculoskeletal discomfort and educate employees regarding self-treatment.
What is a physiotherapist?
All are acceptable means of transporting injured/ill colleagues for medical assessments.
What are EMS, taxis, friends, and family?
An incident that results in an individual missing one or more full days of work, excluding the day of the incident.
What is a Lost Time Incident?
These Baxter employees have the ability to temporarily assign modified duties while awaiting Health Services' intervention.
Who are First Aiders, Supervisors and Lead Hands?
These Baxter Managers must be notified immediately of all critical injuries.
Who are the EHS, HR and Plant Managers?
Alliston has provided 9 of its 37 active First Aiders with extra training in this health discipline.
What is Mental Health?
