What is PPSA?

With PPSA, you pay for started applications, not just clicks, like when a candidate undertakes an activity to begin the application process by clicking the call-to-action button to apply for a job in a Job Ad

What is an objective-based campaign?

A campaign is a group or segment of sponsored jobs with one over-arching budget that is pulled from all the jobs within the campaign.

100

What is pay-per click and how does it work?

Sponsorship option that boosts the job in the search results and is what the daily average budget goes towards.

Anytime a job seeker clicks on a job title in the search results to see the full job description, that is considered a click. It is one click per IP Address.

Why are there minimums in place for daily avg./monthly budgets?

To achieve our goal to Help People Get Jobs, jobs must be budgeted properly. Our data shows that jobs with budgets below the minimums established in each market have a low positive outcome rate, with 70%+ struggling to receive one application.

What is or can be defined as a started application?

1) a user clicking on a button or link in a Job Ad or email to start or continue an apply on the Site or on a third-party site;

2) a user interacting with a chatbot, QR code, or other method to start an apply related to a Job Ad; or

3) a user clicking on a button or link to schedule an interview, where that step precedes or replaces the application process on the Site.

What type of jobs can use PPSA?

Indexed: Objective-Based Campaign

Hosted: Campaigns with multiple jobs

300

What are the two objective-based options and what is the difference?

1. Balanced: Balances the budget across all jobs within the campaign. This aims to deliver as many applications as possible.

  • Suggested for even distribution of application across all jobs

2. Maximum: Does not balance budget across jobs. This may result in some jobs using the majority of the budget. This objective delivers as many applications as possible but will favor some jobs over others.

  • Suggested for lower campaign job volumes or where it doesn't matter which job receives the majority of candidates

How do you find out from the logs what the client initially set their daily budget amount to?

Find the "Update Ad Budget" category in the account history listed after the job was created (Create Job) and divide the number by 7.5 to get the initial daily average amount set.

How does the "Target applications" campaign objective work?

Bonus: How does the "Target Cost Per Application" campaign objective work?

Target Applications - Select a target number of applications across jobs. This objective is good for a client who has a specific number of applications needed to achieve a hire and needs to eliminate wasted spend. This will aim to distribute applications more effectively.

Target Cost Per Application - Client has a specific cost target for an application. This option is good for clients who aim to pay a certain amount for an application. Target CPA can be set at a campaign level.

400

How do you limit the amount of spend on an average daily budget job?

By setting an end date.

400

When would you encourage a client to use PPSA?

If a client is upset with PPC not delivering quality applicants and the client wants to get closer to the hire, we would suggest changing to a campaign.

500

A client is upset that we took away PPA. They used to get a good batch of candidates and they liked the spend being focused closer to the hire. They do not like their money going to unqualified candidates or that anyone can click on their job and they have to pay for it. What budget would you recommend and how would you get their buy-in back?

PPSA - Monthly budget on a singular job or a campaign for one or more jobs!

A client is looking to hire cleaners across all of Colorado. They need 10 cleaners with the same qualifications and want to use the same posting. We recommend posting separate jobs for each of the 10 locations to stay organized and sponsoring to get good visibility. Which is better - PPC or a campaign?

Campaign for easier management and cost efficiency!

A client posts two jobs, one for $25 a day and the other for $54 per day. They wanted to post the first one for $25 and the second one for $17 per day. They wanted to post both jobs for 10 days. They have been invoiced for $1185 before tax. How would you calculate the refund?

Answer: 25+17=42, multiply that by 10 days = $420.00 intended spend

1185-420=765 Refund $765.00

A client is frustrated because their job is not getting much traction. They are hiring an RN that needs to be licensed, but they continue to get unlicensed people applying for the job. The client wants a job posted and is currently spending $10 avg. daily in a highly competitive area. We check the hiring insights and there are over 500 job seekers that have added or updated their resume. What would you recommend the client do?

Keep the job sponsored as it is a competitive area and add a resume subscription to target candidates who are looking for work with a Resume on Indeed.
