Yes - as long as they are not putting the hat on the heating unit, and they help regulate body temperature and decrease overheating.

PSP 2.8 - When is your timesheet DUE to be submitted?

Time sheets must be completed weekly and submitted before the end of each work week. Time sheets submitted after Saturday at 11:59pm will be considered late.

PSP 6.10 - What day of the lesson set must all worksheets include the following: 

  • Available/accessible long term lesson plans; and Daily Plans, if on probation.
  • Instructor/Course Information in top left (Instructor Name, Day of the Week, Dates/Year, Time, Event ID#, Lesson Supervisor)
  • All Swimmer Names (First & Last) & Participant ID Number
  • Up-to-date Attendance
  • Continuous Evaluation Started
  • Participant Account Checked in Swim Gen [Note: If they are missing or have duplicate accounts, email “AquaticLeader” to correct.
  • In SwimGen, check for previous level and mark off any “passed” items from previous instructors. Put a small “P” or the previous instructor’s initials in each skill they passed. (You can also do another 3x eval but the skill should be marked complete in the report card)

PSP 3.3 - Demonstrate and Describe how to allow a swimmer to climb AND fall from the rope swing safely.

Yellow rope must be attached to the bottom of the white rope, and the white rope should be pulled out of the way from below the swimmer as they climb. Once they are ready to fall, the LG should ensure that the rope is out of the way and the lifeguard will tell them to let go of the rope and "drop."

Exception -  If the waterslide requires an Instructor/Adult at the top and bottom due to the swimmers’ age, the Instructor should collaborate with the team to have 1 other class join them. (be careful not to overload a lineup with large classes)

1 - Public Swim set up, Red rope is next to diving board so a wire lane rope is not next to a feature and could be landed on. 

2 - Masters, Red rope should be btwn lanes 1+2 for public.

PSP 2.6 - HOW and WHEN do you call in sick to work during operational hours when we are open to public?

During regular operating hours

1.Call the Front Desk at 250-545-6035 (ext.0) and ask to speak to a Deck Leader.

2.You must personally speak to the Deck Leader.

3.The Deck Leader will then post your shift and begin arranging coverage.

If you are unable to work a scheduled shift due to illness or an emergency, you must follow the procedure below at the earliest reasonable moment.

PSP 8.3 - What was noticed in Fall of 2025 about the Filter bumps? What is the name of the button that we press during a Hot Tub Refill to restart the filter?

Perlite was entering the hot tub during an automatic bump.
