When commissioning a system an installer must check voltage on every string. They must also check for voltage from every home run to ground. Why do you do this? What is a proper reading and what is a bad reading? What does a bad reading indicate?
Checking for ground Faults. A fault means here is voltage present between home run and ground.
Why Cant you turn my system on now?
You have not received final interconnection yet. Your current meter does not track current in both directions. We could get in trouble from the Utility by doing this.
Service entrance cables shall be supported at intervals not exceeding ____ inches
Hint: section 230

left to right Tab away
Your response when a customer asks "can we add a few more panels?"
You may tell him weather or not they would technically fit, but you must refer to a salesmen. The system was probably designed this way for a reason. There is more to consider than space. (Inverter Loading, Fire setbacks, shading, ETC.)
We are working in a 400a service. We are installing a 200a circuit coming off that main service. What size equipment Grounding Conductor should we use?

When commissioning a battery system, what are some crucial steps that the installer must do to ensure the system is working properly.

The difference between a NEMA 3R, and a NEMA 4 enclosure
Bonus: What does NEMA stand for?
3R - protection against rain, sleet, and damage from external ice formation.
4 - protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water and damage from external ice formation.
Bonus - National Electrical Manufacturer Association
To be qualified to sit for the NABCEP exam you must first.
(This is not the only way)
-Have documented six installations with decision making role.
-OSHA 10
-58 approved training hours. (PV101/202 qualify you)

What size breaker would you install with a 7.0kw inverter?
How did you get there?
7000/240v=29.17A
29.17A*1.25=36.46A (continuous duty correction)
Then round up to nearest breaker size.
Bonus: What is continuous duty mean?
Not a customer conundrum but oh well...
How do you bend exactly a 12" offset in EMT using 45 deg bends?
1.4*12=16.8
Place two marks in pencil 16.8 inches apart on the EMT bend two 45 deg bends on those marks in opposite directions
(120% rule question)
You have a 7000w inverter feeding a sub panel with a breaker. The subpanel has a 100 rated bus. The sub panel in fed from a 200a main service with a 100a breaker.
Is this ok? What issues do you see. propose a solution.
7kw inverter need a 40a OCPD.
40a breaker in 100a bus fed with 100 breaks 120% rule.
40a of back feed in the MSP is ok because 1.2*200=240.
Proposed solution(two answers accepted): tap the sub, or re feed the sub with a 80a breaker.
How does a GFCI work? (Explain it in terms of current flow)
What does it stand for?
What is it intended to do?
partial credit awarded.
Ground fault circuit interrupter.
Intended for the protection of personnel.
This device monitors the amount of current flowing through the L1 as well as the current through the grounded conductor (Neutral). if it senses a difference it will trip indicating current has gone somewhere it was not intended to go.
