What are Right's Limitations?

RL's refer to a specific instance when access to a particular item, media, etc. must be limited or denied for security purposes, adverse effect on treatment, or cause interference in the rights of others. EX: consumer having RL's of holding their own lighter and cigarettes

What is the definition of Restrictive Measures?

RM's are a use of restraint, isolation or protective equipment in the care of our consumers. They are to be used as a last resort, when no other option is safely available. EX. maglocks, restricting access to a different room

What do you do when an employee calls you and tells you they've tested positive for COVID-19?

- Notify Stina

- Notify all staff in the home and advise for them to be tested, especially the ones who've come in direct contact with the positive employee

- Notify consumer care team/guardian/PCP

- Full PPE is required for all staff in the home

- Per PCP/guardian, may need to get the consumer tested OR monitor daily for symptoms 

- DISINFECT

How do you accept medications in to the home?

- Verify it's the right consumer

- If i'ts a controlled medication, verify the correct amount of medication is there and the the receipt matches 

- Sign with a legible signature

- Put the receipt where CM designated

What is the process when a critical incident occurs

1. Notification to the care team/guardian within 24 hours that an incident has occurred (provide brief description), cc Rachel, Lanetta, Souda and your Senior

2. First Person Reports completed by employee on duty at the time of the incident

3. First Person Reports retrieved by House/Case Manager then begin the actual CIR

4. Upon completion of the CIR, send to Lanetta to review

5. Lanetta will email a revised copy back. Revised copy will need to be sent to the guardian/care team. cc your Senior and Souda

How many training forms are currently used and what is the difference between them?

1. New Hire/Orientation: completed for every New Hire

2. Individual Training Checklist: completed for every employee for the consumer they are working with

3. Training Verification Forms: completed during monthly team meetings as a review of training tools

What is the difference between the Emergeny Folder and the Blue Consumer Folder?

Emergency Folder: Document containing info that will help meet needs in the case of a natural disaster type of emergency.

Blue Folder: Contains Facesheet, copy of most updated M.A.R., elopement plan and possibly a picture. In the event of hospitalization or elopement, the document can be used for police , emergency or medical assistance.
