*DIFFICULT* Can you separate phrasal verbs/use an object in the center? If yes, give an example. If no, explain why it isn't possible.

Yes, you can separate certain phrasal verbs, example: Put on my shoes... Put my shoes on... Put them on.

Sometimes, it isn't possible! Get on the bus =/= Get the bus on = impossible.

It is difficult to know when to separate them or not. A simple rule: Keep it simple! Don't separate them. :) This will be good for MOST two-word verbs for Intermediate 1.

*DIFFICULT* If you want to express that an action was finished in the past (completed, done), is COULD appropriate? E.g.: Yesterday, I could do my homework.

Does this example mean that the homework is complete? If yes, why? If no, why?

BE ABLE TO (was/were able to) is the correct form to use when talking about past finished actions. Yesterday, I was able to do my homework. => Finished, done. The teacher can correct it.
