What is communication?
the act of giving, receiving,
and sharing information - in other words,
talking or writing, and listening or reading.
Why is communication important?
It helps make the exchange of information and
knowledge easy, and helps us develop
relationships with others.
Why is listening just as important as speaking?
To listen, we need to make a conscious effort not to just hear what people are saying but to take it in, digest it and understand. Not only does listening enhance your ability to understand better and make you a better communicator, it also makes the experience of speaking to you more enjoyable to other people

What is Active Listening?
Active listening means giving full attention to the speaker and trying to understand the complete message being sent. Active listeners show verbal and nonverbal signs of listening. Positive reinforcement, remembering, and questioning are all verbal signs of active listening

indirect, being mean behind someone's back, beating around the bush instead of clearly communicating feelings.

Not really paying attention, distracted, not enthusiastic, avoids eye contact.
What does it look like when we apologize and MEAN it as opposed to a fake apology?
Giving a genuine apology shows the other person that you care about them. Your conflict isn’t worth losing a relationship over.

Emotionally dishonest, indirect, apologetic, self-denying. Avoiding conflict and talking about your issues.
