How to Dress for an Interview
Should you wear jeans on an interview?
No! Always "Dress to Impress"
Wear slacks, or suits, or dresses that are knee length or longer with a suit jacket.
Tell me about yourself.
Say something unique and relatable. Pay attention to the interviewer. If they have pictures of dogs, talk about your pets. Be honest, be yourself.
Name a website you can find a job posting on?
Indeed.

What time should I get to an interview?
Be there at least 15 mins early.
"If you are 5 minutes early, you are a half an hour late."
I want to argue with the interviewer. Is that bad?
Yes! Never argue with the person interviewing for work.
Should I shower before my interview?
Yes! Shower, washing face, trim finger nails. Hygiene is important daily. Always make a good impression!
What are your strengths?
Talk about the skills you have learned over the years. What separates you from your co-workers. (bragging time)
Most places have them online, some stores still have in person applications.
My breath stinks, what should I do?
Brush your teeth right before you leave. You can chew gum, but spit it out in the garbage before your interview.
My pants are wrinkled. Should I just wear them.
Nope! Iron them the night before, or ask staff/family for help.
Do I need a tie?
Yes! Always wear a tie on an interview.
What are your weaknesses?
This is a hard one. When discussing your weakness, talk about how you have worked to overcome them. Example: I was nervous talking to customers. This year I have worked many jobs where I engage with customers and now I am better at customer service!
How do I update my resume?
That's easy! Work with the career specialist at Bridgewell. Everyone has a resume already :)
What should I do with my phone during the interview?
Turn it off or put it on silent! Never be on your phone during the interview.
Never! Don't fall asleep before the interview. Remember to get a good night sleep and wash your face.
Should I wear makeup?
If you like, wear subtle makeup. Don't go overboard with too much makeup during the day.
Why should we hire you?
Be honest. Talk about what you have to offer.
What should you send in with your resume?

The interviewer asked me if I had a skill, and I don't … should I lie?
Never lie in an interview! Always be honest and yourself.
If I have to use the bathroom in the interview, should I excuse myself.
Trick question! Use the bathroom before your interview so this doesn't happen. Only excuse yourself if it is an emergency.
Should I tuck my shirt in?
Of course! Make sure you have your clean shirt tucked in. Also wear back socks if you have them.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Talk about your goals. Think about what you want for yourself professionally and personally.
After I apply, then what?
Wait for the call for an interview! Get ready to "Dress to Impress"

Call and notify them. Next time, take an earlier bus.
I have to pass gas. Should I do it?
