What is a slab roller?

What is B-Mix?
Making a clay surface rough in order to weld two pieces of clay together.
What is scoring?
These can be used to clean your tools right at your table instead of at the sink.
What are a bucket of water and a sponge?
A pointy metal tool that can be used to poke tiny holes or slice clay.
What is a pin tool or needle?
Kneading the clay to remove air bubbles and make the clay body malleable.
What is wedging the clay?
The term for clay that has been run through the pug mill in order to be used again.
What is recycled or reclaimed clay?
Using a spoon or other non-porous tool compress the surface of clay, creating a shiny, smooth finish.
What is burnishing?
Tools to use in order to sweep all the dry clay crumbs off your table cover before wiping it down.
What are a broom and dustpan?
A round table top tool with a flat spinning surface used to turn hand built pieces while building and glazing them.
What is a banding wheel?
Do this before shaking a bottle of glaze to avoid a huge spill.
What is make sure the lid is screwed on tight.

How should a ceramic piece be stored during a project?
A sharp tool with a handle and a metal blade that is used to cut clay.
What is a fettling knife?
A banding wheel should be carried this way so that it doesn't fall apart.
What is from the bottom?
The condition of the clay when it's dry enough that fingerprints aren't left on the surface when it is touched.
What is leather hard?
Carving through underglaze layers with small trimming tools in order to create a visual design that reveals the color of the clay.
Where should dried up clay pieces be put?
A large, high-temperature oven or furnace used to bake, dry, harden, or process clay pottery.
What is a kiln?
A round, flat, textured piece of clay that is formed and then fired to be used to protect kiln shelves for future firings.
