Remove the ellipses. They remove context from the quote while asking the reader to question the context.

Remove the comma after claustrophobic. Only use a closing quotation mark after all of Bob's dialogue.

Use a comma. The quote is the object of "says", which is the verb that introduces it.

The period goes inside of the quotation marks because there isn't a parenthetical citation.

The punctuation used in the quotation (no punctuation if merged, comma before dialogue, and a colon for a preceding clause)

The Author’s last name in the citation is unnecessary because he is already introduced.
