What is Matter?
Anything that takes up space and has mass.
100
Your Hypothesis should always we in what format?
IF, and THEN format.
100
What are the 3 main measurments (characterisics) of matter?
Mass, Density, Volume.
100
What do you always have to put after your answer on the test?
units

How is a compound and a mixture different and similar?
Same: They are both combinations of different things. Different: In a mixture the things can be seperated, but in a compound they cannot.
200
what are the 3 main states of matter?
Solid, Liquid, and Gas.
200
What is the independant variable in an experiment?
The part of the experiment that you change and does not depend on any other thing in the experiment.
200
How is Mass different than weight?
Weight is how hard gravity is pushing down on you and that can change anywhere you are depending on how hard gravity is pushing down there, whil mass id how much matter an object contains and that is the same everywhere.
200
If you figured out that an object with the Mass of 10 g and the volume of 2 mL has the density of 5__, what unit would you use?
g/mL
200
What is the basic building block of all matter?
Atoms
300
What does the dependandt variable depend on?
The changes you make ( the independant variable)
300
What is on the top of the density equation pyramid?
Mass
300
What are the basic units for mass?
mg, g, Kg
300
Why are atoms a lot like Legos?
Beacause they are both little small things, that are all different shapes and sizes, that you can put together to build bigger things.
400
All ___________ are made out of matter.
objects
400
Why is it bad to add 2 independant variables to an experiment?
Becaue you dont know whitch one is the one that effects the experiment.
400
What is on the bottom of the density problem pyrami (left to right)
Density , Volume
400
What are the basic measurments of Volume?
L, mL, cm3
400
What 3 things do you need to put on your graph?
Title, acurate and consitant scale, lables
500
Why is it eaisier to run through air than in water?
Becuase in the waster the molecules are a lot closer together, and the move slower than the ones in the air.
500
What is the control group in an eperiment?
The group in the experiment that does not get the independent variable applyed to them.
500
Explain the water displacement method used to find the volume of and irregular shapped object such as a rock.
you fill up a gragulated cylinder to a certain ammount of water and drop the object in to the water. Shee how much the water went up and that is the volume of your object.
500
If you had an object with a density of 10 g/mL and a volume of 2 mL, you find out that it is 20 ___. What unit would you use?
g

Part 1: Describe the difference between a chemical color change and a physical color change. Part 2: Who is going to ge a perfect 4 on the test?
Part 1: A chemical color change i a color change that happend and doesnt make sence. Fore exaple, the white batter of pancakes does not naturaly become brown, somthing had to happend to it, so the color change when you cook it is a chemical color change. A physical color change is on that makes sence. For example, id you pant a wall green, it is natural for it to be green, or if you mix blue and yellow you get green. theese make sence. Part 2: MAKENZIE! You are aweosme girl! You will do great :)
