It means that whatever the student and I talk about stays with me. UNLESS, the student tells me they are hurting themselves, someone is hurting them, or someone is hurting someone else (or plans to).

Yes! I work with the other school counselors in neighboring cities. I go to conferences with School Counselors. I help School Counselors who are struggling or just new.
