A view generated from the base view or other selected view.
Projected View
A tool that removes material from a part's interior, creating a hollow cavity with walls within the part.
Shell
An assembly that contains other parts nested within.
Subassembly
A command which removes excess lines from a drawing.
Trim
A tool found in the Inspect tab that measures properties such as the perimeter and area of a region found in the sketch environment.
Region Properties
A profile containing 2D geometry that is used for creating a body.
Sketch
The act that allows for features to be hidden as well as any dependent features or sketches.
Suppress
A tool that allows one to navigate through preset views in a drawing.
ViewCube
A 3D feature that takes a flat object and multiplies it around an axis.
Revolve
A tool that slices a 3D model to reveal sketch planes that may be placed in an interior of a 3D model. Helps with visualization and proper viewing of details while creating sketches for part modeling.
Slice Graphics
A tool that takes a selected 2D profile and sweeps it along a selected path.
Sweep
Settings within Inventor part files and drawing files that change the appearance of a model or drawing view.
Visual Style
A ratio comparing an actual object's size to the size represented on the engineering drawing.
Scale
A tool used to create new bodies defined by a selected face, profile, or plane.
Split
A representation of ridges on a bolt or screw, or in a hole.
Thread
A selection method performed by selecting and dragging from left to right. Any items that are completely inside the window will be selected.
Window Selection
A view that shows the internal detail of a model.
Section View
A flat-faced, cylindrical but very shallow hole that is larger in diameter than the hole it is concentrically cut into.
Spot Face
A block of text, somewhat automated, added to a presentation to provide information on a file.
Title Block
Axes that can be used to aid in the creation of 3D part models and give more flexibility than using only the origin axes. Examples are Axis Through a Revolved Face or Feature and Normal to Plane Through Point.
