Why did the hoppers hop off of the table? 

When the hopper was flat the rubber band pulled on the piece of cardboard. When you let go, the rubber band pulls on the cardboard springing the hopper up off of the table.

The kid. The kid doesn't create as much friction as the adult because the kid weighs less.

Because the adults cause more friction. They are bigger so they have more to push against the ground causing more friction.

By using different materials to build the slide or wearing different clothing, causing more friction between yourself and the slide.

Why was suspension bridge a good design for the Golden Gate Bridge?

It created the most support while still leaving enough room for the ships to pass underneath.
