What is defining an intimate relationship?
A branch of HPS which provides 24-hour emotional support and practical assistance to individuals victimized by crime or tragic circumstance. Staff and specially trained volunteers provide practical assistance, emotional support and referrals for additional community resources.

What is strangulation?
This is a voluntary, free Ontario government program, which helps victims and witnesses of crime navigate the criminal justice system after charges are laid.
What is the Victim Witness Assistance Program?
A policy which requires Communications operators to advise EMS when a victim is strangled, despite the victim's wishes.
What is mandatory ambulance dispatch?
These are tiny, flat, red, or purple spots on the skin caused by bleeding from broken blood vessels.
What is petechiae?
Patrol attends a criminal IPV occurrence. The victim does not wish to support charges or speak about the incident. Because of this, Police are unable to form reasonable grounds. The report is concluded by indicating this clearance code.
