What do you do on Friday and why is it done according to Imam Al Bukhari?

To take a bath on Friday is specifically required as a large number of people will be gathering at the mosque also Friday is recommended since it occurs once every week because by a hadith narrated by Al Bukhari and Muslim when Abu Huraira reported that the prophet said it is the duty of every Muslim to have a bath once every week to wash his head and body.

You should understand and give the benefit of the doubt as the other person might be busy, have plans, or in a state that they are unable to receive you. You shouldn't have any ill feelings.
