CPT stands for Curricular Practical Training. It is employment authorization for an integral part of an established curriculum. It must also be directly related to a student's major.
How do students earn OPT hours?
Qualified students become eligible for 12 months of OPT after they complete a degree level as an F-1 student. For example, completing a Bachelor's degree gives a student 12 months, and they could receive an additional 12 months if they return and finish a Master's degree.
What can happen if an international student does not maintain full-time enrollment?
If an international student does not maintain full-time enrollment, their SEVIS record can be terminated.
When does ISSO take drop-in appointments?
ISSO takes drop-ins Monday-Thursday between 2pm - 4pm.
