Around Christmastime in 1914 it was discovered that there was a low water supply. Mother Loyola and the sisters prayed a novena to the Little Infant of Prague, after which two artesian wells were found. As thanks, this shrine was built for the Little Infant of Prague near one of the wells.
Many of the founding women at Immaculata had devotions to the Infant of Prague which lives on not only in the statue on Back Campus, but also in this statue. As students pass by the statue located in this building, they ring the bell for their intention.
