I was 7 years old when I was sent to live with a relative who was a tutor.  I caught typhus and almost died, so they sent me home.

I didn't just write novels, I also wrote about real things. What was my work of non-fiction called?

It was called the History of England, and I wrote it when I was 15 years old.  It pokes fun at the way history books were written at the time.

My four brothers helped us financially for several years until 1812, when my brother Edward found a cottage for us on his estate at Chawton.  Chawton House is now a museum dedicated to my life and works.

What was my love life like?

I was in love with a man named Tom Lefroy, but the match was disapproved of by both our families, because neither of us had money.  We both needed to find marry well to survive.  I did accept a marriage proposal in 1804 to an old neighborhood friend, but I changed my mind the next day as I really didn't love him.

I hated it.  We were not rich enough to attract much attention, and the constant agitation and social obligations affected my writing.

Addison's Disease, or side effects from typhus, or possibly lymphoma.  No one really knows because Cassandra destroyed any letters mentioning my health problems.
