2 types of seed plants:
Gymnosperms and Angiosperms
Annuals
Easy to grow and fast to flower, annuals and biennials bring quick colour to the garden. They are usually cheap to buy in great numbers, but make a big impact in the garden. A plant that goes through its entire lifecycle in one growing year/growing season
A plant reoccurring through multiple growing seasons. Blooming portion of plant generally dies in the winter season, and grows again in the spring from the same roots system.
Many keep their leaves throughout the winter.
Perennial

Gymnosperms
cone bearing seed plants
Hardy annuals
Autumn sowing is suitable for annuals (plants which are sown, flower, set seed and die in one year) that tolerate frost. Some of these annuals can be sown directly in the ground, and will withstand most frosts. Others are not quite so robust - they can be direct sown, but covered with cloches or horticultural fleece when frost is forecast. Alternatively, they can be sown in pots and kept frost-free over winter.
When will my perennial grow if I start it as a seedling?
Perennial blooms will be observed in the growing season of the following year.
what part of flower prouduces pollen
Anther
What do seeds need in order to germinate?
water, oxygen, and proper temperature
Angiosperms
flower bearing seed plants
Half Hardy annuals
Plants that die if they are exposed to the cold, so can't go into the garden until after the last frosts.
Plant seeds (in a protected environment) 6 weeks before planting out/last frosts. Harden off for 10 days.
Biennials
Plants that require 2 years to complete their life cycle.
First growing season will observe leaf growth close to the soil.
Second season sees stem growth, flowering, seed formation completing the cycle of that flower.

3 things ALL plants have in common:
multicellular; producers; have plant cells
What is the stage of seed growing?
1) imbibition, 2) respiration, and 3) cell division.
Are trees considered Perennial?
