MVR/CLUE shows member had a DUI 3.5 years ago. Member is in CA. Would member still be eligible for a Hagerty policy?
If MVR/CLUE (and everything else) is looking good otherwise, policy would technically still be eligible. Being that policy is written in CA, GDD would not be applicable for another 6.5 years for this member.
"The Mrs. and I are interested in attending the Greenwich Concours this summer. Do we get any special treatment as Hagerty members?"

Member wants to add a 1975 VW dune buggy to their policy. Member advised does not have headlights or rear-view mirrors. Member also advised they love ripping through the dunes all summer long. Is this something we can write?
No - dune buggies must be street-legal, and must be primarily used on paved roads (occasional beach driving acceptable.)

Endo should be GREEN in DT. If member doesn't want to make any changes other than originally recommended GV increase - issue endo!

If all other details are acceptable, we would rate this as a Custom Import, or "Tuner."
"I got my Datsun towed and I need to send you guys the invoice. Where do I send that?" (Member has HDC/did not contact us for towing.)
- How would you handle this request?
1. Inquire why member did not reach out to us for tow.
2. If reasonable, clearly document and advise member to email invoice to photo@hagerty.
3. Advise member turnaround time can be 2 weeks, and not all requests are honored/reimbursed.

- What kind of conversation would you proceed with?
- Ask about condition. (Did they get a steal of a deal?)
- Review HVT with member, average "fair" condition around $7k for this truck - member may not realize where this vehicle is valued.
- Member may advise it's a salvage title (ask for photos.)
"We have our '73 GTO convertible on our policy. Our daughter is so excited to take her girlfriend to prom. She wants to show off to her friends and take the GTO to prom. Do we have to add her as a driver? She has a clean driving record, but she's only 18 years old."
She can definitely take the GTO to prom! We love that the younger generations are excited about cool classics! (No addt'l UW including MVR needed! We just need to make sure that is the ONLY time the youthful will be driving.)
Member has 5 classic BMWs on their policy, and mentions they are a member of BMW Car Club of America. Member mentions his garage is full of original BMW manuals and tons of brand merch.
Legendary Ride
Member is quoting a 1965 Shelby GT350. After inquiry, member advises it's titled as a 1965 Mustang. How would we write/rate this?
Stock! This would be considered a clone, so the vehicle would be written as titled. We would just want to detail upgrades/changes in our notes.
How do members enroll in HDC VIP?
Members must receive an invitation from an executive or board member. VIP is equivalent to 3rd gear coverage, and can be good for either a year or a lifetime (decided by exec who gifts membership.)
An agent calls in advising they were trying to add a vehicle to the policy effective today, and at renewal. The agent advises they want to add CS on vehicle, but got an error message upon submission.
- How would you proceed?
Create new endos to add vehicles.
Address any stop rules, and proceed normally!

What's the difference between a Replica and a Clone?
Simply put, a replica is one vehicle built to look like a completely different YMM (ie. 1965 VW > Porsche Speedster.) A clone is a vehicle that is upgraded to be a better or higher-valued version of that specific YMM (ie. 1966 Chevelle > 1966 Chevelle SS 396.)
"I just finished restoring my '91 Jaguar and I'm excited to get it to the track. We added harnesses and I got a sick new racing suit. I'll definitely be racing this summer!"

"Hi! I currently have 4 classics on my policy and want to add my Harley if possible. It's a 1998 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, it's all original. I never get to ride it - only take it to a show every couple of months. Is that something I can add on?" (Mr. has been riding MCs for 20+ years, and is requesting a GV of $10k.)
- How would you present your accommodation?
Per MC Enthusiast, Mr. has qualifying vehicles, enough riding experience, limited usage, and a good requested GV. We'd want a photo to make sure this is not a chopper.
"What's this $70 charge on my bill? I don't read the magazine and I have AAA for towing. Is this optional or do I need to have the membership?"

Example: While HDC is an additional membership, you have access to other benefits such as discounts on Coker Tires, Griot's Garage, plus more, and expert help finding parts and shops. Fun Fact! In Hawaii, most people call carports "garages." We would want to double-check and make sure storage is actually an enclosed garage.
