Explain the purpose of redlining.

They established a map with a color system. Green was for areas/neighborhoods who would receive help, and red was for those who would not.

Colored people were living mostly in the red areas and so were not eligible to receive loans. In other words, it forced them to remain/stay in the cities (insecure, dirty, expensive) and they could not move to the suburbs like others.
