Scenario

You are at school when an older student begins to tease you.  The older student begins to call you names like "baby" and "tiny."  You becomes upset and begin hitting the older student.  How could you have reacted differently?

It is ok that you were upset that you were being called names.  However, hitting others is never ok.

Instead, you could have used your coping skills, like taking deep breaths, to stop and think before reacting.  After you felt calm, you could tell the teacher or ask a trusted adult for help.
