False. Up to the student's responsibility to drop courses. All students are expected to drop (by the end of the drop period) those courses they do not intend to continue. Registration is not canceled for failure to drop.

If the work has not been completed and no final grade has been submitted by the established deadline, the grade of IN is changed by the University Registrar's office to the Incomplete Final Grade recorded at the time of the IN grade designation.

F. Students can repeat a course in which they received an unsatisfactory grade. Some courses allow a limited number of attempts, and if that is the case, it will be stated in the course description in the catalog. All attempts will always remain on the transcript as part of the student’s official record. However, once repeated, the grade earned in the most recent attempt at the class will be the one factored into the student’s overall GPA. Any previous grades for that course will be excluded from the GPA calculation. Different colleges have different rules and grade expectations for course repetitions.

While a selective withdrawal has no punitive effect on GPA, it may affect a student’s academic standing as courses that have a grade of ‘W’ (withdrawal) are counted in the attempted hours that are used to determine a student’s academic standing.
