WHO - The King, the King’s servants, and the wedding feast.
WHAT - Jesus told a parable about a king who wanted to have a big wedding feast for his son. He sent out servants to invite everyone to the feast, but no one came. The king sent the servants again to invite EVERYONE to the feast, and people came.
How did people respond when they were invited to the Wedding Feast?
FIRST, they people ignored the servants and went to their farms and businesses instead of the wedding feast. THEN 'both bad and good' were invited and they came to the feast!
1 Chronicles 29:11 "Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power..."
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the mejesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to you and Yours, Lord, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all.
What did Jesus teach when He was on earth?
Jesus taught about God and His kingdom. He taught that all Scripture is about Him.
When the King invited everyone to his son's wedding feast, the people of the kingdom were overjoyed and came to the feast.
FALSE - the people of the town hated the messengers and even killed one of them. They did NOT want to come to the feast.
WHO - The parables of the mustard seed, hidden treasure, a pearl of great value, and a great net.
WHAT - Jesus tells four parables about the Kingdom of Heaven. We learn that the Kingdom is greater than we could imagine, valuable, to be treasured, and that God knows who will join Him!
What is the parable of the mustard seed? What does it mean?
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; 32 it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32).
God's Kingdom may appear or start small, but it will grow larger than all of the others!
Hebrews 11:6 "Now without faith it impossible..."
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
How can we be saved?
We are only saved through faith in Jesus.
Jesus told us all about the Beatitudes at the Sermon on the Mount.

WHO - Jesus, the lost lamb, and the Prodigal Son.
WHAT - Jesus tells three parables about people and things that are lost (lamb, coin, prodigal son). The lost things and people are found and there is much rejoicing!
How did the Prodigal Son's father react to him coming back home? What does this tell us about God?
He saw him walking back from far off. He ran to meet him and kissed him. Then he came back home and ordered that a great feast be prepared.
This is how God greets anyone who comes back to him - not with retribution and anger but with feasting and celebration!
Romans 5:8 "But God proves His own love..."
But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
How do we know God loves us?
We know that God loves us because He gave us Jesus to forgive the sins of the world.
When you pray, you should make sure to say big, beautiful words that impress people around you.

WHO - Jesus and the Lord’s Prayer.
WHAT - Jesus preached that we should store up our treasures in heaven! He also taught us how to pray. Our prayers and priorities should honor God first and foremost.

Poor in Spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, peacemakers, those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake.
John 1:20 "The next day John saw Jesus..."
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
What did Jesus do to save us?
Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead.
The older brother in the Prodigal Son story is a good example of nonstop faithfulness to God.
FALSE - He stayed home with his father, but was upset when his brother came home. If he was truly happy to be part of God's family, he would have been overjoyed!
WHO - Jesus at the Beatitudes
WHAT - Jesus teaches us the Beatitudes. Blessed are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek,those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and those who are persecuted because of righteousness.
Say the Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly grief produces..."
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly grief produces death.
How should we feel when we sin?
When we sin, we should feel sorry that we have disobeyed God and want to turn from our sin because we love Him.
When the man found the pearl of great value in the field, he recognized it's value and brought it straight home.
