Trick room is a psychic type move introduced in generation 4. Its unique effects have made it a popular choice in competitive to this day. Trick room allows slower Pokémon to move before faster Pokémon for five turns. When trick room is active regardless of stat boosts, even known speedsters like regileki, floatzel and sceptile can be outsped by incredibly slow pokemon.
Regileki and Floatzel are actually capable (with the use of stat boosting moves) of going so fast they can completely ignore the effects of trick room.
