Question: Identify the main idea and the specific detail used to develop it.
Main Idea: Pandas need a lot of bamboo to survive.
Detail: They eat for 12 hours/28 pounds a day.
Multiple Meanings: "The judge sat on the bench." / "The coach told the player to sit on the bench."
Question: How does the context (situation) change the meaning of the word "bench" in these two sentences?
In the first, it is a judge's seat in court; in the second, it is a place for substitute players.

An informational article
Explain the difference between third person limited and third person omniscient.
Even though the narrator is outside of both point of views, third person limited's narrator only knows one character's thoughts, feeling, and actions. While third person omniscient's narrator, is all knowing and has access to every character's actions, thoughts, and feelings.
Passage: "Electric cars reduce smog in cities. They are also much quieter than gas engines, which lowers noise pollution. Therefore, they are better for urban environments."
Question: A student summarizes this as: "Electric cars are quiet." Explain why this summary is incomplete based on the supporting details provided.
The summary ignores the first detail (smog/air pollution), which is a "key idea" necessary for a complete overview.
Passage: "Unlike his gregarious sister who loved parties, Mark was shy and preferred to stay home alone."
Question: Using your context clues, surrounding the word gregarious, determine what gregarious means, then determine an antonym for the word?
Gregarious means social or outgoing. An antonym could be introverted or shy.
