Is Piggy based on another game?

Yes, Piggy was originally based on a combination of the popular children's TV show Peppa Pig and the indie horror game Granny. The game's concept was a survival horror game that put a monstrous version of a Peppa Pig character in the role of the antagonist. However, due to copyright issues, the creator MiniToon had to redesign and rename the characters in 2020. The developer of Granny has expressed support and even referenced Piggy in other games.

Why did the original Piggy stop getting updates?

The original Piggy game stopped receiving major content updates in late 2022 because its creator, MiniToon, became burned out after nearly three years of constant updates. He wanted to move on to other projects, including new games and intellectual property, and felt restricted by the continuous need to update the existing game. While the main story is complete, smaller updates like bug fixes and new content for Build Mode can still happen.
