Is the number 33 prime or composite?

Draw factor trees.

composite. (everyone draw a factor tree)

What is a prime number?

A prime number is a whole number greater than 1 whose only whole number factors are 1 and the number itself.

100

Write one three-digit number that has ALL prime DIGITS in it.

Everyone gets Jeopardy points if they get their answer correct.

(Players must check each other's work. You can use the Prime & Composite frog chart to verify if each single digit in the number you created is prime.

Some examples include the following: 222, 232, 777, 372, 333, 537. Notice each INDIVIDUAL DIGIT is prime.). This is a common type of question that some missed on the test. Be sure all your group members understand it.

Order these numbers greatest to least:

1.506    1.056   1.56    1.516

All decimals MUST be lined up in a column with all answers correct in order to get the points. You cannot write them in a row. (Hint: think about these numbers like it's money!)

Tip: This is what a column looks like with decimals lined up.  These numbers are an example:

  1.023

 1.23

 1.32

1.056

1.506

1.516

1.56(0)

Is the following number prime or composite: 18

Draw the factor trees.

Composite. (Everyone draw the factor trees)

200

What is a composite number?

A composite number is a counting number that is the product of two counting numbers, neither of which is the number 1. (A composite number has 3 or more factors.)

200

Write a two-digit composite number.

Everyone gets the Jeopardy points if everyone gets it right. If needed, verify the answers on the Prime & Composite frog chart below the Recordex.

Three small puppies each got on a scale. Each puppy had a different weight. Puppy #1 weighed 14.77 pounds, puppy #2 weighed 14.08 pounds, and puppy #3 weighed 14.077 pounds.

Put the weights in order from greatest to least. You MUST line up the decimals and get it correct in order to earn Jeopardy points.

Hint: think about this as money!

What is the ONLY even prime number?

2

300

Write a one-digit prime number.

The fastest 2 people win these points. ✅✅

Each of the digits for the Lions School buses are composite numbers. Select TWO correct answers?

E). 374

B). 849  and  D). 464

Notice the question ask you for all the DIGITS.  It didn't ask you for the number ..it said digits in the number. (Always read very carefully for math academic vocabulary.)

400

What two numbers are neither prime nor composite?

0 and 1

400

Write a one-digit composite number.

Everyone scores if you get it right!

Everyone checks the work of each other. Look at the Prime & Composite frog chart below the Recordex ito verify answers.

Examples: 4, 6, 8, 9

500

Is the following number prime or composite?  1

Draw a factor tree.

The number 1 is neither prime nor composite.

500

Are all even numbers greater than 2 composite?

Yes, all even numbers greater than 2 are composite.

The reason is because they can be evenly divided in half with no remainder. (Like the Skittles problems with arrays)

500

Create an equation with a sum that is a prime number.

Everyone gets Jeopardy points if they get it correct!  Hint: think of a prime number and work backwards to create the addition problem.

Everyone will check each other's work and determine who all can earn the Jeopardy score.

Examples:

2 + 1 = 3. (Notice the sum is 3. 3 is prime.))

4 + 3 = 7 (Notice the sum is 7. 7 is prime)

1 + 4  = 5

1 + 1 = 2
