What is the result of unintentional plagiarism?
In eighth grade, you will read a variety of fictional and historical texts to gain insight into how literature can help you make sense of the world. You will learn to write in a variety of genres, including responses to literature, reflective essays, and stories. Also, you will create multimedia presentations and art to demonstrate your understanding of essential questions. You will also write analytical essays to develop your skills of argumentation. There will be many in class discussions, opportunities to practice reading literature expressively and deliver presentations. By the end of the eighth grade, you will be ready to begin studying complex aspects of literature in high school.

A zero for that assignment on the first offense (with an option for a re-do and averaging of the two grades). For subsequent offenses, the grade will be counted as a zero (with no re-do option), and further sanctions will apply after consultation with the principal and your parents.
