During the storm, Jesus walks on water. What happens to Peter during this time and what does Jesus teach him?

Peter asks Jesus to command him to come to him on the water. However, Peter was afraid of the stormy wind and began sinking, crying out to Jesus to save him. Jesus catches him and teaches him to have faith and not to doubt.

Fasting is to help us grow closer to God. We must have the right attitude when fasting. When we fast, we examine our motivation when serving God. We don't fast to show others how great we are.

What did Jesus do to the demon named Legion?

A man was demon-possessed and Jesus commanded the demon to come out of him. It told Jesus it's name was Legion and begged Jesus to enter the herd of swine feeding on the mountain. The demons went out of the man and entered the pigs, which ran out into the lake and drowned.

Who is Jairus?

(Hint: he has a daughter)

Jairus wwas a synagogue ruler who fell at Jesus' feet and begged for his help to save his dying daughter. However, his daughter had died on the way back to his house. Jesus told him he only needed to have faith. He told her to get up and she did.

Salt is useful for seasoning, preserving, and disinfecting. A lamp on a stand gives light to everyone. Believers should strive to do good deeds so that others can see those good works and glorify God in heaven.

Why couldn't the disciples cast out demons?

Jesus told the disciples that they could not cast them out because of their unbelief. He’s said that if you faith as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. He also said that this kind (of demon) could only go out by prayer and fasting.

What happened in the parable of the Good Samaritan and what can we learn?

A priest and a Levite both passed by the injured man without helping him. The Samaritan cleaned the wounds, took him to an inn, and used his own money to help the man.

We must always try to show kindness to those in need even if they're enemies.

What happened in the story of the paralytic and his friends?

The paralytic was brought by his friends to see Jesus. Since they couldn't come near him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof and let down the paralytic on the bed he was lying on. Their faith allowed the paralytic to be healed.

What were the four types of environments in the parable of the sower and what did they represent?

Wayside: the seed is planted but cannot grow as it is swept away by the devil.

Rocks: the seed is received but cannot form a strong foundation.

Thorns: the seed is choked by the thorns, which are the worries, pleasures, and desires of the world.

Good Ground: the seed can take root deeply and grow. This allows us to bear fruit for God.
