Jonah knew Jehovah was compassionate and the Nineties might repent. Jonah wanted God to destroy them.

How did Jonah get out of the whale's stomach?
Jonah prayed to Jehovah and repented
The people repented, Good saw their deed and they turned from their evil way
What happen when Jonah went outside of the City of Nineveh to rest?
God made a caster-oil tree to grow & give him shade.
Tree died the next day and Jonah failed and wanted to die.
God told Jonah he had pity on the tree, which he didn't do anything to get. So shouldn't God have pity on the Nineties whom he created?
Why did the mariners throw Jonah into the sea? And when they did what happened?
The mariners blamed Jonah for the storm. When they threw Jonah into the sea, the sea became calm.
How does Jonah being swallowed by a whale show God's sovereignty and power?
This shows God has control over heavens and the earth. He can raise the storm and calm the sea. He can arrange the fish to swallow Jonah and to spit him out.
What did the King of Nineveh tell the people to do?
The king decreed that they all fast even the animals. They fasted and put on sackcloth and sat in ashes.
What is the main lesson to have the tree grow and then die?
God wants all man to be saved whether they are good or bad. We should preach the gospel to everyone, even the ones we don't like.
